About Us

Suircan was founded in 2009 when a group of concerned citizens came to gather to discuss ways to 'bring the heart back' to Suir Island, once Clonmel industrial centre.

Since 2021, Suircan has been incorporated as a company limited by guarantee with a constitution and governance procedures.

Our current list of directors are introduced here:

PRO: Louise Lalor

Louise, a Tipperary native, is a mom of two and primary school teacher. Over the last number of years she has become increasingly aware of her individual responsibility to care for our planet. She believes in the power of positive action and inspired by groups such as Ireland Community Toy Libraries, she joined Suircan in 2022 with a vision to set up a Toy Library. She has been the driving force behind the very popular Clonmel Toy Library, which is now at full capacity and is eager to expand.
